Zinio Systems, Inc. Appoints sti to its Board of Advisors

By Neal Lenarsky and Adam Bauman

We are now advising Zinio Systems, Inc., an exciting two year old company, who has developed an advanced integrated digital delivery platform for magazines and other print media. The Zinio Reader allows you to download and read popular technical and consumer magazines right on your PC or laptop; it's also slated to be the default reading application on the new Microsoft Tablet PCs which are scheduled for launch in November. Nearly two dozen titles are available for immediate subscription at Zinio's online newsstand (e.g., PC Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, Design News and GamePro); several leading magazine publishers are poised to make some of their best-known titles available as well.

We're often asked by our clients and friends to keep them apprised of new technology - and quite frankly, the Zinio Reader was so impressive to us (it actually looks like reading a magazine on screen) that we highly recommend a trip to their website at www.zinio.com to download their reader and help yourself to a complimentary copy of National Geographic Traveler magazine!

The applications for the Zinio Reader will expand well beyond magazines to newspapers, as well as yellow and white page directories, corporate reporting and alumni publishing.

sti has been working with Zinio, leveraging contacts within the publishing community in Los Angeles and New York City, to help them build their firm to its next level. Zinio just recently completed an $8.4 million third round venture capital raise, led by Alan Patricof of Apax Partners in New York City. Les Vadasz of Intel Capital and Stewart Alsop of New Enterprise Associates, among others, also participated in the round.
